Sweden
Sweden’s capital city, Stockholm is jam-packed
with cultural experiences. You can wander around its old town, which is located
on the small island of Gamla stan. For something a bit more contemporary, head
to the ABBA Museum. Gothenburg is another
popular Swedish city, with many historic cathedrals and buildings. If you want
to get out and about in the Swedish countryside, the Uppsala area is one of the
country’s most picturesque.
Denmark
When in Copenhagen, make sure you head to Tivoli
Gardens which is a popular theme park. Don’t forget also to stop by the famous
Little Mermaid statue out in the harbor. But there is much more to this country
than its popular capital city. The peninsula of Jutland is the country’s
mainland and features many historic Viking sites. There is also plenty of

of Odense is a great destination for nightlife and shopping.
Norway
There are multiple Viking museums in Oslo,
Norway’s capital city. You’ll also find many world-famous museums and
galleries. It’s also a great city for those who love the outdoors, as there are
many opportunities for skiing, cycling, and hiking. The city of Bergen is the
gateway to the fjords and features some of the country’s best scenery. If you
want to spot some of Norway’s best Art Nouveau architecture, head to Alesund on
the west coast.
Iceland
Many people who head here book onto one of the Iceland Northern Lights tours. But the natural phenomenon isn’t the only reason to head to this
small island. Reykjavik is a cultural hotspot and also features a plethora of
trendy bars and restaurants. Once you’ve had enough of city life, head out to
the Blue Lagoon to relax in its warm waters. Don’t forget to explore the
southern coast either. This is where you’ll find many dormant volcanoes.
Finland
If you’re staying in Helsinki, you will be able
to catch one of the many ferries that take day trippers out to the neighboring
islands. If you are traveling with young children, be sure to head up to
Lapland. This is Finland’s northernmost area, and also said to be the home of Santa Claus. It is also a popular destination for skiers.
Many people stay on the shores of Saimaa, a vast lake. The area offers visitors
some fascinating scenery. There is also the option to enjoy canoeing, swimming,
and hiking.
There is loads more to Europe than the usual
