If you have never been to Singapore before, you are in for a real treat with this amazing city nation. Singapore is like no other: it is big and brash with enormous skyscrapers reaching high into the clouds and yet it is also green and vibrant with parks to stroll around and relax in. Once a British outpost, and occupied by the Japanese in the Second World War, Singapore gained independence from the UK in 1963 to become part of Malaysia.
