celebrate the groom's 'last night of freedom'. There have been significant
changes over the past few years of what actually constitutes a bucks party. It
used to be a simple night out the day before the wedding, maybe with a little
bit of debauchery thrown in for good measure! But these days, it is more common
to do a group activity such as off road biking or a weekend away for

Timing
Traditionally, bucks parties takes place the day before the wedding. You will need to consider whether this is a practical and viable option for you. Many people now shun this traditional aspect of the bucks party, especially if they know they will be drinking or will be out late. There would be nothing worse than turning up to your wedding day hungover and sleep deprived! Consider planning it the week before instead, to give you time to recover. You then also have the opportunity to spread the party over a few days, or to go away somewhere with your friends for the weekend and play some good music while you're on the go. Typically, the best man is the one who organizes the bucks party. However, you do not need to stick to this tradition like clockwork. If you know who you want as your best man, but aren't too sure of his party-planning abilities, consider asking your groomsmen to plan it together. Give them a few hints and ideas of something you might like to do, and of course, make sure you discuss budgets. You'll need to have enough money left over to fund your honeymoon, after all.

These parties are a joint event between the bride and groom, with both in attendance.
