Fujifilm X-A2 Review and Why "NOW" is the Perfect Time to Buy One

Capturing the best moments or simply documenting my life over the years has been an important thing to me and finding a camera to visually achieve what I’m looking for hasn’t always been easy.

I’m not a professional photographer, just an average blogger who wants my photos to look good as the real thing without going through the tough process of editing or changing settings on my camera that I’m clueless about.

Whether for art, expression, memories or hobby, photography can engage people in a single moment captured in time. (I love that!) Though I’ve had my DSLR for almost 3 years and my phone to take snapshots of moments, I figured it’s about time that I capture life and memories more beautifully through a new lens, and I’ve heard pretty good stories about mirror-less cameras.

While there are actually a lot of options to choose from, I was more fascinated to the Fujifilm X-Series lineup. And recently, I decided to purchase the FUJIFILM X-A2 as a birthday gift to myself and let me tell you, this camera has EVERYTHING I was looking for without the large price tag and technical skills required to run it.

For the past few days of taking my camera out for a spin, I’m glad to have some few pro-photographer friends to give me some tips on how to run it manually. But for someone like me who isn’t a professional photographer, but is learning more and more about photography and loving it, the Fujifilm X-A2 is a great camera that provides you to take quality photos no matter where you are or what type of lighting you’re in.

The Fujifilm X-A2 continues to surprise me each time I use it and learn more about it everyday. It has a variety of features and this is definitely not your typical point and shoot digital camera.  I purchased mine just a few days ago at COLOURS, 3/F Centrio Ayala Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.

What’s inside the box?
  • Digital Camera X-A2 with its interchangeable lens Fujinon 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II
  • Battery charger
  • Shoulder strap
  • CD-ROM with application software & owner’s manual
  • Lens hood
  • 8GB SD card
There’s everything included in the box that you need to get started.

Key Features
  • 175 degree tilting LCD screen with intelligent autofocus (selfie-ready!)
  • Multi-target AF, Easy AF, Auto Macro – perfect for close up food shot
  • Wide angle lens
  • Quality – 16.3 Megapixels APS-C CMOS sensor and ISO sensitivity of 25600 with self-cleaning sensor
  • Built in wiFi Connectivity – making wireless transfer quickly & easily with the phone app
  • Long battery life (up to 400+ photos)
There are actually too many features to go over, so these are just my personal favorites.

For the benefit of those who don't know, Fujifilm has this ongoing promo wherein buyers can get a FREE INSTAX MINI 7S CAMERA when you buy a Fujifilm X-A2 16-50mm kit worth Php27,990, which is only until October 31, 2016. Such a great deal, right? So I didn't let it slip away from my fingertips. The free instax was an added factor that really made me decide to push through with the purchase since I’ve always wanted to have an instax camera, but I don’t really have the budget for it, so the decision to upgrade to a new camera couldn’t have come at a better time. With the current promo, I was able to save as much as Php 2,699.

I’ve been getting a few comments from my friends that I should’ve waited for the X-A3, the newer version of X-A2, since Fujifilm already officially announce its release. So what are my thoughts? Two things: it’s way waaaay more expensive than the X-A2 and who doesn’t want a free instax camera? Seriously. Haha. Kidding aside, I have no regrets.

The Fujifilm X-A2 is so easy to use and it makes it easier also for anyone to take any type of picture– self-portraits, landscapes, macro shots, low-light or flash photography. No master skills level required.  It has amazingly clear image quality with creative settings that will let you snap photos that display your style and focus. Not forgetting to mention what I really love most about it is the classic appearance, especially with the sleek body design.

I chose the silver body, which adds to the classic look but with a modern design that I surely love! It’s also available in white and brown.

I might not be a pro, but thanks to this camera, I’m able to take stunning photos of my family, friends, outdoors, and for my blog. There are so many features to love about the Fujifilm X-A2. It’s easy to navigate, high quality, and FUN. It’s an overall awesome camera!
